On February 23, 2025, Manuel “Manny/Nizzy” Nesbitt, the beloved patriarch of our family, gained his wings and went to walk with the angels. Manuel was born on October 16, 1945, in Nevis, West Indies. Manuel’s journey on this earth was marked by love, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. Throughout his 79 years, Manuel touched the lives of everyone who knew him with his kindness, wisdom, and boundless generosity. He was a man whose heart was as vast as the island of Nevis, and his legacy lives on in the many lives he shaped. After finishing school, Manuel worked in the cane fields and at a small grocery store, juggling these jobs to make ends meet. During this time, he realized he wanted more out of life. Determined to create a better future, he decided to take the police exam. Manuel passed the exam, but instead of pursuing a career in law enforcement, he made the bold decision to pack up and migrate to the United States Virgin Islands in search of new opportunities. He married his beloved Rosemarie. Manuel decided to pursue a career in the culinary arts and quickly made a name for himself. He went on to become one of St. Thomas' most respected and talented executive chefs. Throughout his culinary career, Manuel had the opportunity to work in various cities, including Boston, Florida, and Atlanta. Manuel went on to live a joyful life with his wife, children, and grandchildren. After retiring, he was able to fulfill his dream of traveling the world with his family.

Q: How did you meet Manuel?
A: I met Mr.Nesbitt back home in St.Thomas, where he became like a second dad to me, and long after a grandfather to my daughter. Growing up he always included me as one of his children. We will miss him so much, he was straight forward, honest and definitely a family man and loved everyone that came around his kids like his own. I will miss the days of all the cooking, conversation and the encouraging words when we met up for special occasions. Daddy you left us to watch over us. God gain a chef and a angel at the same time.
From Eve
Manuel has been a close friend of mine for the last 50 years. I never felt more comfortable just being my natural self than when i was with him with him. He will live in my heart forever…but oh, I will so miss him.
Marvel Nisbett was like a brother to me. We shared many adventures together including my first trip to Puerto Rico in 1973. He would always keep an eye out for my brother and I. Countless times he helped my family and I in our time of need. He was a one of kind. He was generous, caring, and supportive to everyone he met. He treated everyone with respect and opened his doors and made everyone feel like they were family to him. He was always willing to help in any way shape or form. My family and I are forever grateful for his kindness and generosity. He will be truly missed. May his soul rest in peace. Sincerely, Mervin James and Family
We are only left with your memories to live with now. Words cannot express our grief. We pray that God will bring peace and solace to our family. Rest in peace, uncle.

Tribute to My Life Long Friend Manuel Nesbitt.
Manuel and myself became acquainted and made a friendship on the Island of St Kitts in 1964, and remain lifelong friends. We worked together for the same company in St Kitts and enjoyed many lifelong memories such as. Birthday parties, attending the moves, house parties, making friends with the girls, enjoy carnival and Christmas parties, and tours throughout St. Kitts. Manuel migrated to St. Thomas US Virgin Islands, and I remained in St Kitts to complete my studies and gain my Diploma, our lifelong friendship was never broken as we stayed in contact and look out for each other, then I migrated to St. Thomas and we were tougher again and continued our lifelong friendship.
An opportunity came and I migrated to Tortola, however we continue staying in touch with regular visits. On one such visit I had the honour of meeting his beautiful wife Mrs. Rosemarie Nesbit and attended a one of his children Baptismal Service. Manuel was a loving and very kind hearted person, He never was angry over anything, and he always go the extra mile to help others, He was a family man and was always optimistic about life, hardworking, and honest in his dealings with others.
My family and myself sympathies are expressed, to his wife Rosemarie and their sons and daughters, his extended family and friends, and the community who knew and loved him.
While we mourn our loss, we also celebrate the legacy of his service and compassion, Manuel leaves behind.
May his legacy live on in the hearts of those lives he touched.
May his soul Rest in eternal Peace and Rise in Glory.
Lifelong Friend Hesketh Newton.

Rest in eternal peace, uncle, Manuel Nesbitt.
As a 5-year-old growing up, I met the most decent and honorable man I’ve come to know. First, Nesbitt seemed like an ordinary man, but as time went by, I came to love and respect him. I realized he was anything but ordinary. He was provider. A master chef, a real father and husband. Nesbitt became a part of the family from the very first day that he was introduced. Almost 50 years of being a part of the family, he has stood by his wife, children, and family. Nesbitt was an extraordinary human being that will truly be missed by all that was privileged to meet him. Rest in peace brother. We will meet again.
My deepest sympathy to my sister Rose and the family for the loss of their beloved husband and father, Manuel. Nesbitt, as we called him, was a truly upstanding man who demonstrated his love for his family in lots of wonderful ways that will never be forgotten. Stay strong family, God is with you and he will never leave your side.
