Donald James Crosby Jr.

April 10, 1962 ~ March 19, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Donald James Crosby, Jr., who went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. Don was born in Atlanta, GA, on April 10, 1962. He was a larger-than-life personality who loved deeply and was always ready for fun. Though he could be stern at times, he had a way of warming up and laughing heartily once you knew how to crack his tough exterior. While Don did not grow up in a Christian home, he came to know Jesus Christ in the late 1990s. He recognized the weight of his sin and understood that the only way to salvation was through submission and repentance. Don married Linda Neeley in 1992, and together they built a life full of hard work, joyful moments, open doors, and a welcoming spirit for all.Don worked for Parsec as an Operations Manager at the Inman ramp for Norfolk Southern, where he was responsible for loading and unloading trains. He took great pride in his work, striving to be the best, and worked nights for much of his career, which led to a more nocturnal lifestyle. After becoming a Christian, Don referred to others as “my brother” and “my sister,” a reflection of his deep faith and love for others.Don was known in his family for his famous ranch burgers and chili, often made with an extra kick of spice (always delicious, though!). He loved hunting, watching sports, relaxing by his pool, riding around in his truck, and joking with friends and family, often just to see if he could get a rise out of them. He was also often seen wearing a hat with the name of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, proudly displayed. If you ever wanted to see Don’s heart soften, simply speak about Jesus, and you would see a man deeply moved.Don lost his brother, Alton Dalton, at a young age, and he often said that had it not been for the mercy of Christ, he would not have been able to face another day on this earth. He and Linda raised their two sons, Michael and Jacob, and also welcomed and raised Alton’s four daughters—Nakitta, Kristy, Heather, and Danielle—through high school.Don’s love was contagious, and he had a special place in his heart for everyone he met. His impact on those around him will never be forgotten, and he will be missed greatly.Don is survived by his two sons, Michael Neeley and Jacob Crosby; four nieces; 14 grandchildren: Cason, Alexis, Makenzie, Marcus, Annabelle, Irelyn, Addison, Bennett, Keelan, Harley, Maverick, Breccan, Knox, and Aurora (with another on the way, Amelia June); and one great-grandson, Cole.He was preceded in death by his father, Donald James Crosby, Sr.; his mother, Priscilla Clay West; his beloved wife, Linda Crosby; his stepfather, John West; and his brother, Alton Collier Dalton.Don’s love, humor, and faith will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in peace with his Lord.
