Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend, Phillis Elaine Kimbell was born on October 27, 1948, in Jackson, Alabama. On April 8, 2025, in Fairburn, Georgia, she peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to her eternal heavenly home.
Phillis married at a young age to L.C. Kimbell and was a devoted and loving mother who gave her all to her family. She was a proud member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi, where her faith and spirit were a shining example to all who knew her.
Phillis had a nurturing heart and an unconditional love for her children and family. She was a wonderful homemaker and an exceptional cook her kitchen was always filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals. Her smile could light up any room, and her warm spirit made everyone feel welcome and cherished.
In the early 1970s, Phillis moved from Jackson, Alabama, to Gulfport, Mississippi, where she made her home for many years. In 2012, she relocated to California to live with her son and his wife, and in 2019, the family returned to the South, settling in Fairburn, Georgia.
Phillis was a loyal fan of Dallas Cowboys football and passionately cheered for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, Roll Tide!
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, WillieAnn Clark, father Isiah Anderson, brothers Jerry Anderson and Roy Williams, sister Mary Oliver, son Willie Lee Kimbell, and granddaughter Danielle Elaine McCants.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her devoted children: Bobby L. Anderson of Gulf-port, MS; Gregory E. (Rosliend) Anderson of Fairburn, GA; David Kimbell of Maryland; Daniel (Tracy) McCants of Texas; Carolyn (Darryl) Clarke of Rex, GA; and Willie Smith of Detroit, MI.
Her loving siblings: Robert (Melinda) Anderson of Salt Lake City, UT; Eartha Willis of Mobile, AL; Theresa McKenzie of Boston, MA; Yolander (Hoover) Rivers of Walker Springs, AL; and Marie Hall of St. Louis, MO.
Cherished Grandchildren: Gregory Anderson Jr., Shante Barnes, Ariel Anderson, Jaron O. Moore, Davisha Kimbell, Mia McCullough, Darryl Clarke Jr. Kendra McCants, Justin McCants, Daniel McCants, Jr, Jasmine Harris, Jerry Noble, Gary Noble, Emillous Kimbell, Dominique Kimbell, Darin Gaymon, Chris' David Caba Ruiz, Dana Caba Ruiz, Kevin Bumpers, Brandon Jarrett, and Jamal Callahan. In total, she is survived by 28 Great-grandchildren and 2 Great-Greatgrandchild a host of devoted nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever (Valarie, Larry, Charles Jr., Ralph, Shawntee, Ashanti, lan, and Courtney).
Phillis Elaine Kimbell will be remembered for her unwavering love, joyful presence, and the light she brought into every life she touched. Her legacy of faith, family, and kindness will live on through all who knew and loved her.

I remembered Ms Phillis as a child, she was my neighbor, and always nice with a beautiful smile. She and my mother were good friends. Rest now Ms Phillis, you have gained your wings, my condolences and prayers to the family.
