Myra Jean Zychowski

Myra Jean Zychowski passed away Saturday, May 25, 2025 of Heart Failure. She was born on January 28, 1936, to Roy and Florence Shiver in Blakley, GA and grew up in Parker, Florida. She attended Parker Elementary and Bay County High School. After her marriage to Leonard Zychowski, she moved to CT, FL and settled in Marietta, GA. She worked for the Cobb County School System at JJ Daniel Middle School and retired after 22 years. When she wasn’t working, she was driving her children to many sports events and piano lessons. She was always there to cheer them on whether in a stadium or band concert. Myra enjoyed preparing meals for her family every night. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and wife. After her retirement she took cake decorating classes and ended up baking cakes for events. She made birthday cakes for her grandson as well as her daughter, Faith’s wedding cake. She enjoyed knitting, bird watching, flower arranging and watching animals. She and her husband enjoyed traveling the US with their close friends the Scheff's. Myra is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Leonard Zychowski, her sister Mavis Shiver and her parents. She is survived by her 4 children Philip Zychowski, Faith Zychowski-Giebel (Kurt), Brad Zychowski, and Cheryl Winn (Jeff). Sister Meggie Watson. Grandson Shiver Giebel. Many Nieces and Nephews. Services will be on Saturday, May 31 at the Southern Cremation and Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00- 1:45.
