Roger William Gleadhill, 70, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on May 5, 2025, in Austell, Georgia, after a long and courageous battle with liver failure.
Born in Ajax, Ontario, Canada, Roger was the beloved son of Winifred Ethel (Mason) and Austin Bruce Gleadhill. He emigrated to the United States with his family in 1967, settling in Largo, Florida. Roger had a love for sports—especially ice hockey, which he played during his childhood in Canada, and swimming, which he pursued as part of his high school swim team. His love of hockey stayed with him throughout his life, and he would later enjoy taking his daughter to professional games, sharing the excitement and tradition of the sport he loved.
Roger’s passion for music was a defining feature of his life. Roger was a talented musician who could quickly pick up an instrument, play it well, and write music. This love, led him into church music ministry, where he would go on to meet his future wife, Ann, and many close, lifelong friends. Later, he also performed as a talented bass guitarist with a Florida-based band, Coyote. He spent years in the band with his close bandmates, touring the local country music scene and performing at venues, state fairs, and festivals across the region.
Professionally, Roger dedicated over 40 years to the pest control industry, working in both Florida and Georgia. He was known for his hard work and dry sense of humor.
Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann (Damron) Gleadhill; his parents; his sister Susan Jill (Gleadhill) Travis; and his aunt Judith Anne (Gleadhill) Record.
He is survived by his children, Victoria (Gleadhill) Murray and Timothy Gleadhill; his son-in-law, Brian Murray; his many grandsons; his stepchildren; his sister Avril (Gleadhill) Yarrow; his brother Anthony Gleadhill; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will remember him with great affection.
Roger was deeply loved and will be remembered with great affection by all who knew him. His presence in the lives of his family and friends will be missed, but the memories shared and the impact he made will remain in their hearts.
Rest in peace, Roger. You will be dearly missed.

Roger was me and Colleen’s friend since we were kids. He used to come to our house and teach Colleen to play guitar. We listened to music and played games. We also swam at Ridgewood and later on the Seminole High School swim team. We lost contact for many years and reconnected via Facebook. He and my sister Colleen shared a special friendship until she died a year and nine months ago. Roger and I continued texting and talked on the phone until right before he died. I miss texting and sharing YouTube videos. He fought valiantly. I now think of his son Tim, who took such great care of his dad. My prayers are with you Tim. Rest in peace Roger, you are missed.
As brothers, we were separated by 13 years. We went our separate ways. It was not until much later that we got to know each other. I am thankfull, that, in our later years we were able to share memories, tall tales and reminisce. Roger, you fought a good fight. You didn’t always take my advice. As the song goes “I did it my way”. You will be missed and remain in my thoughts until my last breath. RIP Roger. You are finally free to fly with the angels. Say hi to Mom and Dad, your sister, Susan, and your niece, Judy, when you pass them by.
Tony (Trevor) Gleadhil.
Remembering “Roger William Gleadhill” in our minds and in our hearts. We may never sit under the shade of your trees, Roger, but someone will.
