Kenneth Wilson Sr.

August 30, 1940 ~ April 19, 2019

Ken Wilson, Sr. age 78, passed to his heavenly home April 19, 2019. He is survived by his wife Karen, son Kenny Wilson of Marietta, daughters Kimberly Dillard (Chris) of Woodstock, Kay Cook (Randy) of Canton, grandsons Austin Dillard of Statesboro, Karsten Cook (Faith) of Smyrna and granddaughter Kathryn Cook of Canton. nephew David Watson, Jr. (Cheryl) of Prattville, AL and nieces Cynthia Townley of Tallassee, AL, Jeanne Wilson of Vestavia, AL, Jennifer McGraw (Larry) of Birmingham, AL and sister-in-law, Jean Wilson of Vestavia, AL. Ken graduated from Phillips High School in Birmingham, AL and attended Auburn University and Jacksonville State University on football scholarships. He was an exceptional athlete who enjoyed football, baseball and softball which he played for 40 years while employed at Lockheed Martin. As well as an excellent marksman and pool player, his other interests and hobbies include hunting, fishing, playing cards, woodworking and gardening, which always provided a bountiful harvest for family and friends. His family also called him "Mr. Fix It”, as he could fix almost anything! He was employed with Lockheed-Martin for 40 years and held many different positions as he went up the ladder of success there. Ken was a member of Lockheed Management Club, Gun Club, Boat Club as well as active in our community as president and charter member of Piedmont Lions Club and an active member of Woodstock First Baptist Church for 32 years. Ken was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle father-in-law, grandfather and friend. He was loved and admired by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 starting at 10:00 am at Southern Cremations & Funerals at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, 1861 Dallas Highway SW, Marietta, Georgia, 30064. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm (noon). Interment at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park immediately following.
