Dorothy Ann Steenrod Stevens

October 21, 1936 ~ July 8, 2025

It is with deep gratitude for a life finished well that we announce the passing of Dorothy Ann Steenrod Stevens. Born on October 21, 1936, in Ellabell, Georgia the first of four children born to Willie and Edry Ennis. Dorothy and her husband of 56 years, Paul Clark Steenrod, raised their four children near Atlanta, Georgia and later retired in Tybee Island, Georgia. After the passing of her husband, Paul, Dorothy later remarried to William Stevens. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and loved a good hand of cards, which she didn’t just play to keep her mind sharp, she played to win - all in fun of course. More than that, she loved her family and loved them well. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, Granny Dot, Dedot, and friend to those who were blessed to know her. Most importantly, she loved and served her Lord Jesus until the day He called her home on July 8th, 2025. Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings, her daughter, Christine Francis Deborde, and her grandchildren Daniel Steenrod and Alicia McEntire. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, William Stevens; her children, Angela Marie McCurdy, Paul Joseph and Karen Steenrod, Laura Ann and Michael Mabe; her stepchildren, Mona Stevens, Steve and Rebecca Stevens, Marcia and Donald Smith, Sandra and Craig McFarland; her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. It was Dorothy’s wish to have a private graveside service at a later date. Donations in honor of Dorothy Stevens can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or The Shriner’s Children Hospital.
