Steven Kenneth Barnett

October 27, 1950 ~ May 9, 2019

Stephen Kenneth Barnett was born on October 27, 1950, in Campbellton, New Brunswick to the late Mr. William Barnett and the late Mrs. Irma Ada Lavallee Barnett. Stephen attended several different schools during his High School career. After graduating from high school, Stephen studied mechanical engineering at Clemson University and later went on to study law at Georgie State University. Stephen started his very own law firm, Law Office of Stephen Barnett, P.C., in Marietta, GA. A loving and spontaneous guy, Stephen enjoyed traveling and working around the world. While traveling, Stephen had an opportunity to meet a young lady, that he later learned would be his wife. Stephen married Diamantia Papangeli in 1995 while visiting Greece. Stephen will truly be missed by many. He leaves to cherish precious memories with his wife: Mrs. Diamantia Barnett, his daughter: Alexis Hawks; his grandchildren: Liam and Paige; his brother: Billy Barnett; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friend. Stephen also leaves precious memories behind with his dogs Leonard, Lucy, and Lobert, whom he adored.

  1. It was a perfect service for my friend, Steve Barnett. I just wanted to say, and anyone that knows Steve will get this, in my 28 years of power plant work, there are only a handful of people who you hear of before you ever get to meet them and your 1st impression of that person blows any mythic stories you may have heard, out of the water! In all candor, there is only one person who fits that bill and of course thats Steve. The thing is, that that kind of intelligence and over the top energy doesn’t go away with the passing of the man’s physical body! That energy doesn’t come from the body you see, it emanated like a solar flare from the spirit and essence of who Steve was and is. He taught me a lot and he made me laugh and he will be, forever, a source of stories I can tell and pride that I can have for being his friend. Dia- Its a huge void which only you and Steve’s family can truly understand but he was needed elsewhere and he wouldn’t have been called if you weren’t the strong woman that you obviously are. I’m sure Saint Peter probably has been hearing some of the ripest jokes ever!! Heaven is now a whole lot more fun than it was a few weeks ago and I can hear him laughing from here.
