It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Zoilo Vanegas, born on July 4, 1955, in Polorós, Departamento de La Unión, El Salvador, to Timeteo Vanegas and Gertrudis Turcios.
Zoilo was a man of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for his family. A devoted Catholic, he lived his life with humility, kindness, and a strong spiritual foundation. He dedicated over 30 years of his life as a professional landscaper, bringing beauty and care to every space he touched. His work was not just a career—it was a reflection of his patience, creativity, and pride in craftsmanship.
Zoilo enjoyed watching soccer, a sport that brought him joy, connection, and countless memories. The game was a source of happiness and community in his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Laura Vanegas; his children, Roberto Vanegas, Elsy Suyapa Vanegas, and Carlos Ernesto Velasquez; and his cherished grandchildren, Domonic Vanegas, Mia Vanegas, Abel Bonilla, and Elvin Bonilla. Zoilo also leaves behind his beloved sisters, Rosa, Angélica, and Rita, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a mental health charity of your choice, or that a tree be planted in Zoilo’s honor—both gestures that reflect his compassion.
Though he is no longer with us, Zoilo’s legacy of love, faith, and joy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
