Kay Grimm, 81, of Marietta, passed away on Monday, May 27th, 2019. She was born on February 9th, 1938 to Harry and Cathryn McCollum in Memphis, TN. Kay grew up in Cape Girardeau, MO and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University.
Kay was an accomplished homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, high school teacher and passionate gardener who loved to “Play in the Dirt.” She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, baking, helping with homework, having them help her in the garden and around the house. She enjoyed talking to them about what was going on in their lives and her values are instilled in them. In her younger years, Kay enjoyed playing tennis and was a member of several neighborhood tennis teams. She practiced various types of dance for many years and was a part of Dancers of the Harem.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Cathryn McCollum. She is survived by her husband, of 57 years, William S. Grimm, son William Bradley Grimm (Sherrie), daughter, Cathryn Christine Tomsche (John), 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Courtney, Rachel, Nate, Karlee and Nora.
Visitation will be held at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, GA on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Service will follow at 12:00 p.m.
