Gerald Allen Amacker

Gerald Amacker, of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully at his home on June 1, 2019. His survivors include his wife of 55 years, Beverly Amacker; his daughter, Alicia Amacker of Marietta; son, Scott Amacker of Easton, PA (Nancy); grandchildren Ashton and Andrew Hilbrands of Woodstock; grandchildren Owen Amacker and Georgia Amacker of Easton, PA; brother, Robert Amacker of Marietta. Mr. Amacker was a native of Crossroad, MS, son of James and Lula Belle Amacker. Preceeding him in death were his sister, Charlene Travis, and brother Larry Amacker, both of Crossroads, MS. Mr. Amacker served in the Air Force, having been stationed in Korea and Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta. He also had a long career as a teacher in both Cobb County Schools and Marietta City Schools, where he retired after 15 years of teaching business courses at Marietta High School. He was a supporter of the arts and looked forward to volunteering each year with The Georgia Ballet during their performances of The Nutcracker. He was a modest and humble man who was loved by many and will be missed by them. We are grateful that he blessed each of us by being in our lives.
