Price Charles (Charlie) passed away at Northside Cherokee Hospital at 7:25PM on June 20, 2019, at the age of 82. Charlie is predeceased by his father Caristene Charles, mother Miralie LeDoux Charles, brother Jean Charles, and nephew Lud Charles. Charlie is survived by his former wife Bonnie Monique Livingston formally Charles. They were married in Belladere, Haiti in 1965.
Charlie is lovingly remembered by: Son, Jod Charles and wife Rosine Charles of Marietta, GA; daughter, Marline Charles Olivier and husband John Olivier of White, GA; daughter Dr. Martine Charles of Tallahassee, FL; granddaughter Ayana St. Louis of Brooklyn, NY; granddaughter Estelle Charles of Cartersville, GA; granddaughter Christine Olivier of White, GA; Michael Charles of Cartersville, GA; granddaughter Natalie Olivier of White, GA; grandson Joel Charles of Marietta, GA; grandson Jon Sebastien Olivier of White, GA; grandson Jordan Olivier of White, GA; brother Arnold Charles of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti; brother Saint-Cion Charles of Pernal, Haiti. Nieces and nephews Junelle Charles Etienne, Myria Charles, Ernsly Charles, Joanne Charles, Arly Charles, Violete Charles, Daria Charles Laferierre, Berline Charles Exantus Nolly Charles, Jonas Charles, Miraly Charles, Yvrose Charles, Andy Charles Priceca Charles, many cousins, and friends.
Charlie was born in Los Puetes, Haiti on March 15, 1937; he graduated high school at Ecole Evangelique Baptiste de Lascahobas, Haiti in 1958. In 1962, he graduated from J B Damien with a professional degree in Tailoring. He later attended and graduated from Seminaire de Bolosse in 1964. Although Charlie never pastored a church, he was a devout Christian and applied his biblical knowledge as a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. He held a variety of jobs and started a few businesses during his early years. Charlie worked as a coffee dealer for the Boulos Entreprise in Port de Paix, Haiti for many years. He created his own men’s clothing shop; sewing tailored men’s clothing for people in the community of Baptiste and Belladere, Haiti while simultaneously owning his own coffee trading business. Charlie migrated to New York City in the early seventies and worked in the textile industry. Unable to secure a suitable schedule that would allow him to spend time with his family; in 1985 he started a career as a cab driver in Brooklyn, NY and held that position until retiring and relocating to Marietta GA in 1996.
Charlie enjoyed travelling, reading, spending time with family and friends, cooking, playing dominoes and checkers.
The visitation will be held at the Chapel of Mount Paran Church of God located at 2055 Mount Paran Road, NW Atlanta, GA 30327 on June 29, 2019 starting at 10 AM.
The celebration of life will be held at Mount Paran Church of God on June 29, 2019 at 11 AM with Reverend Kent Hawkins officiating. Interment to follow at Southern Cremation and Funerals located at 1861 Dallas Hwy SW, Marietta, GA 30064. Repass thereafter at Atlantic Buffet located at 270 Cobb Parkway Marietta, GA 30060
