Marlene Nancy Philyaw, 86, of Newnan, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on December 27, 1938, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.Marlene devoted her life first to her family, raising four children who were her greatest joy. After those early years of motherhood, she pursued higher education and proudly earned her bachelor’s degree, setting an example of determination and perseverance. Most of her professional life was spent at Amway Corporation, where she built a respected career.After living in Georgia for many years, Marlene moved to Summerfield, Florida, where she found deep purpose and fulfillment serving her church community and spending time with her sister. She loved serving the women’s ministry at her church, volunteering at the hospital and spending time with her neighbors. She especially cherished the opportunity to participate in numerous medical mission trips, a ministry that allowed her to live out her faith in meaningful and compassionate ways. In August 2024, she relocated back Georgia, to be closer to her children and grandchildren.When her children were young, she enjoyed watching them play sports and work hard in whatever they were pursuing. She also enjoyed celebrating her grandchildren's many talents and milestones.Marlene is survived by her children, Debbie (Rick) DeNise, Sandy (Al) Dollar, Alan (Becky) Murray, and Paul Murray; her grandchildren, Billy Ransdell, Christie (Michael) Berry, Daniel Murray, Naomi (Caleb) Lawrence, Jonathan Murray, Nathan Murray; her great grandson Noah Berry; several nieces and nephews and their families; and her beloved best dog friend for 11 years, Maggie.Her life was marked by faith, family, and service, and a good hot cup of tea.

In memory of a wonderful woman who was a wonderful Mother-in-law and a wonderful MomMom to my three children! I am so thankful to have had her presence and influence in my life for so long. I know she is resting with Jesus now!
