Maria Socorro LaresMartin

January 10, 1953 ~ September 29, 2025

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Maria Socorro Lares Martin, who left this world on September 29, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on January 10, 1953, in Valle de Zaragoza, Chihuahua, Mexico, she was the beloved daughter of Inez Lares and IsaDora Chaparro.Maria—known affectionately as “Gorda,” “Caro,” “Grandma,” “Mom,” or “Tía Socco”—was the heart and soul of her family. Her warm, welcoming smile and generous spirit made everyone feel instantly at home. She married the love of her life, Jose Israel Martin, on January 31, 1978. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.A dedicated caregiver, Maria worked as a babysitter, lovingly nurturing not only her own grandchildren but also the children of friends and family. Her heart was boundless, and her home was always open. She also volunteered as a school and classroom aide, actively involved during her children’s school years.Maria had many passions. She found joy and peace in gardening, knitting, painting, cooking, baking, crafts, and crocheting. Every handmade item and every lovingly prepared meal was a testament to her creativity and care. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jose Israel Martin; her loving children, Lucy Martin, Gloria Padilla, and Israel Martin; her cherished grandchildren, Skyla (Minho), Javier, Moses Jr., David, Cain, and Madison; and her son-in-law, Moses Padilla. She also leaves behind her dear siblings, Eriberta, Rafaela, and Martin Lares, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends.Maria was a woman of deep love, quiet strength, and endless generosity. She made every birthday, Christmas, and special occasion feel magical, always going the extra mile to make others feel seen, heard, and cherished. To her husband, she was a true life partner; to her children, the best mom; and to her grandchildren, a source of unconditional love and joy.Though she leaves behind an immeasurable void, her legacy of love, compassion, and kindness will live on in all those whose lives she touched. Her memory is a blessing, and the impact of her presence will never fade.
