Thomas Joseph Alexander Sr.

April 22, 1942 ~ October 11, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas (Tom) J. Alexander Sr., age 83, on October 11, 2025. Born on April 22, 1942, in Flushing, NY, Thomas lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and love. A proud paratrooper in the 101st Airborne, Tom served his country with courage and honor. He was a successful entrepreneur, running several businesses, but his proudest accomplishments were always his family—his wife, his children and grandchildren—who were the center of his world. Tom shared 57 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Karen Alexander (Leiendecker). He is survived by his children Tami (Alexander) Kelly and husband Grant Kelly, with their son Chase Kelly; Thomas J. Alexander Jr. and wife Michelle Alexander, with their children Christopher, Adrianna, and Madilyn Alexander; and Dawn & Kirk Rugh. He was preceded in death by his parents, George M. Alexander and Bridgett (Pauline) Alexander. An avid Harley rider, Tom took many unforgettable 40-day trips across the United States, always seeking new adventures. Even as his health declined, his sense of humor never faded, and he kept those around him laughing with his quick wit and warm spirit until the very end. A burial service with military honors will be held in Canton, GA at Georgia National Cemetery on Friday, November 7th at 9:00 AM. Following the service, we will gather for a funeral reception from 11:00 AM to 3:00PM (B&B Tavern, 3568 Sixes Road, Canton, GA), celebrating Tom's life, sharing stories, laughter, and memories of a man who touched so many lives. Tom's family invites all who knew him to attend, honor his memory, and keep his legacy alive through the love and joy he shared with everyone around him. In lieu of flowers, his favorite charities that he consistently donated to were St. Jude and Tunnel to Towers. 1. I will never forget when we were at a hotel gift shop and Tom passed gas very loudly and blamed it on me. We were laughing so hard and the lady in the gift shop asked us to leave. It was quite embarrassing, but funny. Rest in peace.
