I met Marvin when I was a teenager. My parents use to take me to visit him and Mrs. Opel on the weekends. It was the highlight of my weekend. He was a kind and caring man. Always made me laugh. And was a blessing to my life as a kid. He will be loved forever. So glad I got to know him.
Marvin’s daughter June was my very best friend. I spent countless days and nights at their house. The house was amazing and one of the biggest I’d ever been in. The hallway was long going to the massive living room. The first time I met Marvin he came from the hallway doing cartwheels one after the other into the living room. I knew then he was so very special. Hunting was huge in his family. Tried his best to make me gut a deer hanging from a hook. That DID NOT happen so he pulled an organ from the deer and chased me around the yard. I was always excited to visit never knowing what Marvin would do next. He gave me great memories that will last a life time. Rest in Peace🙏
I will never forget the time in my life that I was looking for work. Marvin not only gave me a job, but was great at teaching his skills. He always made me smile with his witty humor, while given me words of wisdom. He loved his family very much, and will be missed by all. Tommy Lancaster
