Nancy Arnold

June 30, 1949 ~ November 16, 2025

Nancy Cheryl Arnold, 76, passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 16, 2025. Born on June 30, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of Benny Olszewski and Helen Ross.Nancy attended Our Lady Gate of Heaven and Visitation High School in Detroit and graduated in 1967. Later that same year, on September 15, 1967, she married the love of her life, David Joseph Arnold, Sr. Together, they built a family grounded in faith, love, and kindness. Committed to the ones she loved, Nancy lived her values daily through her compassion and generosity toward others. For many years, Nancy worked as a waitress, a role that perfectly suited her warm personality and her gift for making everyone feel welcome. From 2016 to 2022, she volunteered at Christian City Graceland Thrift Store in Union City, Georgia, where she found great joy in giving back to her community.Nancy was happiest when surrounded by family. She was a talented cook, baker, and preserver; a devoted gardener; an avid reader; and a force to be reckoned with at Scrabble. Music filled her home, as did laughter, comfort, and the irresistible aroma of something delicious cooking on the stove. Known for her sweet and caring heart, Nancy left a lasting mark on everyone she met. Wherever she went, love followed—both given and received.Nancy is survived by her sister Rose Kempton; her children David J. Arnold, Jr. and Jennifer Brozek; her grandchildren Michelle Arnold, Devon Arnold, Dylan Arnold, Brooke Cameron, Madelyn Brozek, Jacob Brozek, Rachel Brozek, Alexandria Brozek, and Francine Brozek; and her great-grandchildren Connor Arnold and Clara Arnold. She is preceded in death by her cherished husband David Joseph Arnold, Sr.; her brothers Bennett Olszewski and William Gregory.Nancy’s love, kindness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those blessed to have known her.May she rest in eternal peace.

Guestbook

  1. Nancy and I grew up together in Detroit. We went to school together for 12 years and we were best friends. But life changes and we didn’t hang around as much. She was a great friend and fearless as can be. My heart goes out to her family and friends. 💔I attached some old photos.

  2. I was not as close to Nancy as my sister, Maura, was but I have fond memories of the fun we had in the neighborhood. Playing Red Rover on the Olszewski’s front lawn. Or the water balloon fight we had. We ran out of balloons and started using pans of water! Mr. O. came home and asked why all the water on his lawn and Nancy said “it rained”! Mr. O., no dummy, said “just on our lawn?” Those were good times in Detroit. Rest easy Nancy and condolences to her family. – Kathleen Conway
