Pamela Hudgens

January 17, 1953 ~ December 5, 2025

Pamela “Pam” Lynn Lawson Hudgens, 72, passed away on December 5, 2025, from congestive heart failure. Pam was born on January 17, 1953, in Atlanta, Georgia, and was raised in Decatur, Georgia, where she created lifelong friendships and cherished memories.A graduate of Towers High School, Pam was an active and spirited student, serving on the Student Council, participating in Jr. Civitan, and performing proudly as a member of the Titans Drill Team Squad. After high school, she built a dedicated career working with the Federal Reserve Bank, Panasonic, and Sam’s Club.Pam was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Lee Hudgens (1992), her mother, Verlie D. Lawson (2021), and her father, Bobby J. Lawson (2022).She is survived by her devoted son, Scott Hudgens, and his wife, Dr. Jenni Hudgens, of Orlando, Florida; and by her four treasured grandchildren—Ridge, Brock, Pierce, and Amelia—who were truly the loves of her life. Many years ago, Pam moved to Orlando to be close to her son and his family, joyfully embracing her role as “Mimi.” She especially loved chauffeuring her grandchildren to their many athletic and school activities and cheering them on from the sidelines.Pam is also survived by her sister, Marsha Lawson of St. Mary’s, Georgia; her brother, Larry Lawson, and his wife, Carol, of Atlanta; nieces and nephews Justin Lawson (San Diego, CA), Meisha Lawson Ross (Park City, UT), Abby Lawson (Livingston, MT), and Jake Lawson (Dallas, TX); as well as sisters-in-law Sandra Hudgens Trotter (Rick), Elaine Hudgens Gragg (Talley), and Dorothy Hudgens Patton (Gene). She leaves behind Aunt Linda Lawson Manning (Hollis), Aunt Diane Lawson Smith, many cousins, six great nieces and nephews; and countless friends who loved her dearly.Pam had a lifelong love of country music, inspired in part by her late husband’s years as the bass player for the popular Okolona Band in the 1970s and 80s. She was baptized as a teenager and remained a faithful Christian throughout her life. Her loyalty to her high school and neighborhood friends remained strong until her final days.Pam was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, 92 W. Miller St., Orlando, FL 32806, in gratitude for the lifesaving care they provided her grandson, Pearce.
