Darrell Arthur Boykin

November 27, 1950 ~ December 23, 2025

Darrell Arthur Boykin, of Atlanta, Georgia, peacefully gained his wings on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Born on November 27, 1950, in Buffalo, New York, Darrell was born to Naomi Webb and George Boykin. Darrell was known for his loving spirit, bold personality, and quick wit. He enjoyed working with his hands, had a deep love for music, and took great pride in operating his clothing and shoe store in Buffalo, New York. His passion for service was evident in the way he dedicated himself to helping others and fellowshipping within his church community. A proud and honorable veteran, Darrell lived a life marked by strength, generosity, and devotion. Above all, Darrell cherished his family. His ten grandchildren were the joy of his life, and he loved them with all his heart. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit continues to live on in all who knew and loved him. Darrell was preceded in death by his mother, Naomi Webb; his father, George Boykin; his sister, Beverly McDaniels; and his sister, Donna Sledge. He leaves to honor and cherish his memory: his loving son, Darrell Boykin; his daughters, Tanya Frierson and Lakesha Boykin of Atlanta, Georgia; his daughter‑in‑law, Rayshele Boykin; and his son‑in‑law, Jarrett Frierson. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren—Mikaiya Frierson, Amaiya Frierson, Lauryn Frierson, Evan Frierson, Omar Boykin, Ny’e Boykin, Darrell E. Boykin, Chmyria Boykin, Imari Boykin, and Fahim Harris—and three great‑grandchildren, Nyle Evans, Khyson Boykin, and Kamari Boykin. Darrell also leaves behind his sisters, Darlene Respress, Deborah Browning, Karen Foote, Kathleen Bolden; Brothers, Barry Steward, Lucky Boykin, Anthony Costello, and Michael Jones, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. Darrell’s legacy of love, faith, and family will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.

  1. As you grieve know that we are remembering you…

  2. My best wishes for Tanya , and all of the extended Boykin family.

  3. Our sincere condolences to the loving family of Darrell Arthur Boykin who we were blessed to have met and enjoyed as our neighbor in his golden years. In these latter years we shared the love of gardening. Yes that’s right Darrell truly appreciated spring flowers and toiling a bit of soil for the rewards of natures beauty. We pray your treasured memories and retrospect of his wisdom, grit and passions, his honorable service to his country and community will forever be reflected as he desired for all generations of his legacy. Our deepest sympathy and celebration of life well-lived, the Taylors.
