In Loving Memory of Joshua Knowles
Some people spend their lives searching for who they are. Josh spent his life becoming who he was meant to be.
Joshua Knowles lived with a rare combination of strength, determination, curiosity, and compassion. He approached life as a continual journey of growth, always seeking the next stronger version of himself—not only physically, but mentally, creatively, and spiritually.
Josh had an unwavering dedication to self-improvement. He was an athlete in the truest sense of the word, not because of trophies or competition, but because of his devotion to the process. Hiking, basketball, the gym, table tennis, and countless other pursuits became expressions of his endless desire to learn, improve, and push beyond his own limits. He was always practicing, always preparing, always refining himself—as if becoming better was not a destination, but a lifelong calling.
Yet Josh’s greatest strength was never simply physical.
Beneath his toughness was a deeply loving and compassionate heart. He carried a rare kind of loyalty, the kind that made people feel safe knowing he would stand beside them no matter what. Josh was the kind of friend who would take a bullet for the people he loved. His word meant something, his presence meant something, and the bonds he formed were genuine and lasting.
Those who knew Josh will remember his incredible ability to bring people together. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a warmth that drew people in, and a gift for making others feel welcome. He brought energy and life into every room he entered, leaving behind laughter, connection, and memories that will continue to be cherished.
Josh was also a seeker of knowledge and beauty. He loved music and art and embraced them with the same dedication he brought to everything else in his life. He found joy in exploring complexity, discovering new perspectives, and understanding the deeper layers of the world around him. His curiosity never faded, and his desire to grow never stopped.
His compassion extended far beyond himself and those closest to him. Josh loved animals deeply and had an unwavering sense of justice. He could not stand by in the face of cruelty or wrongdoing. He believed that strength carried a responsibility—to protect, to defend, and to stand up for those who could not stand up for themselves. His courage in confronting injustice earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
Above all else, Josh was a devoted husband and father. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Mina, and their two sons, who will forever carry his love, his strength, and the example of a life lived with purpose.
The measure of a life is not found in the years it contains, but in the love it gives, the courage it inspires, and the lives it quietly transforms. Joshua Knowles leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, perseverance, compassion, laughter, and unwavering love. Though he is no longer with us in physical form, his spirit continues through the people he touched and the lives he made better simply by being a part of them.
As we grieve the loss of Josh, may we also honor the gift of having known him. May we remember not only the pain of his absence, but the joy of his presence. For as Kahlil Gibran wrote in The Prophet:
“When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.”
May Josh’s memory forever be a blessing
