Dorothy Ward Barber

Mrs. Dorothy Ward peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, and went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was 73 years old.

Dorothy was born in Fort Valley, Georgia, on September 7, 1952. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lemon H. W., and her father, Oscar L. Ward. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alfred Sinter Barber, and Eddie Ward.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted sons, Calvin Ward (Sheila), and Eric Bridges; her sisters Arelecia Owens, Hedda Bolton, and Sandra Brown.

She was a loving grandmother to Deshea, Little Calvin, Camrion, Brandon Ward, Starrian Ward, Derika Ward, and Travis Ward, and was blessed with 16 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Jerry and Haywood Tucker, Claudia Tucker, Lona Finnie, Georgia Hospice Care, special friend, Flora Bell, Janane Pitts, and Sister Tucker, along with a host of nieces, and all of the friends and family who surrounded her with love and support.

Dorothy will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and faithful friend. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
