Harry Wayne Bruce Sr

Harry “Wayne” Bruce Sr., age 84, passed away on September 5, 2026. He was born August 4, 1942, to the late Welton Bruce and the late Dorothy Evans in Atlanta, GA. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Gary Beringause, Richard Bruce, mother figure; Effie Hunt, and his canine companion, Ike.

Known by many names CB, Crazy Boy, Batman, Papa, Pops, Father; Wayne lived a full life with a stubborn tenacity that made him who he was. Wayne worked at Atlanta Dairy, Jones Trucking as well as an avid entrepreneur. When he was not working, he loved playing golf, fishing, hosting neighborhood cookouts, and going to Daytona Beach. He was also known for taking his dog, Ike, to Dairy Queen for ice cream. He would take care of anyone in need and didn’t expect anything in return. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He found joy in the slower pace life as years followed by watching nature in all its beauty, going on trips and always spending time with his loving wife, Barbara.

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Barbara Bruce, children; Harry Wayne Bruce Jr. (Marylon), Susan Arnold (Dennis), James Hornbuckle (Joe), grandchildren; Dana Anderson (Josh), Brittany Hamlin (Jamie), Justin Waite, great grandchildren; Hayden Carley, Nate Anderson, Greyson Carley, Ady Hamlin, Hunter Smith, Asher Hamlin. Wayne will be missed by all who knew him.
