Oscar Prieto Pereza

Captain Oscar Prieto Peraza, 89, of Marietta, Georgia, peacefully transitioned to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at the comfort of his home. He was the son of the late Oscar Prieto Ortiz and Graciela Peraza. A native of Caracas, Venezuela, Captain Oscar Prieto Peraza served in the Venezuelan Navy for 30 years. He was a graduate of the Venezuelan Naval Academy, Promocion "TN, Fernando Gomez" Year 1954. After his retirement from the Venezuelan Navy, Captain Prieto Peraza made Marietta, GA his home to be close to his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was the primary caregiver of his beautiful wife until he was ailed with ALS. He was a loving and dedicated husband and father. He also had an undeniable love for animals which extended to his beloved dog Anais. Captain Oscar Prieto Peraza is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lilia; his son Oscar (Hilda San Juan) Prieto; daughters Lilian Denebola (Waleed Abdul) Prieto, Althair 'Ali' (Terry) Snyder, Mildred Alexandra (Thomas) Adams and Genevieve Prieto Kessler; grandchildren, Lilian Grisel Alvarado, Oriana and Oscar Andres Prieto, Ryan and Derek Snyder, Yousef Abdul, Maxwell and Olivia Kessler, and Joshua Adams. Memorial services for Captain Oscar Prieto Peraza will be held at 11AM, Saturday, July 13th, 2019 Southern Cremations & Funerals at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park on 1861 Dallas Highway SW, Marietta, GA 30064. Interment will follow at noon. Friends may visit with the family from 10AM to 11AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to The ALS Association Gift Processing Center P.O.
