Ellington Lloyd Adams

May 12, 1992 ~ July 27, 2019

Ellington Lloyd Adams was born on Tuesday, May 12, 1992 in Wellington, Florida, to the parents of Earl Ill and Susann Adams. His older brother, Earl IV, had already given his parents hands-on practice, so they thought they were ready for this additional bundle of joy! Ell's arrival was spectacular and very special because he was not alone. HE WAS A TWIN! At the moment of his birth, because he was first, he assumed what would be his life's role: protector, visionary, thought provoking, sensitive, kind, understanding, patient, and fun-loving ... all wrapped into one person. That's the Ell that we all know and love!   A ’song' named Ellington Lloyd Adams, affectionately called Ell, was created and ... Oh! What a joyful noise!  Ellington's birth paved the way for his TWIN! The unwavering devotion and respect shared between the two became publicly known as the TWIN CONNECTION throughout their lives. Protector as a child and supporter as an adult, Ellington contributed his strength and love to support his twin, Elyse, as she made the transition to her true self. With Ell's blessing, she now lives proudly as Spencer Grey Adams! They both agreed to use an "S" name to honor their mother and to allow Spencer to become his own man. That was one of Ellington's purest examples of love and understanding ... planted at birth and cultivated throughout his life.   Growing up, Ellington was the fun and energy that made every occasion memorable. Family gatherings, sports events, trips, dinners, watching TV and even simply coming in the front door became a 'happening'! As a student in the Dunwoody Public School System (K-12), everyone knew his name. Who could not be mesmerized by those big, bright eyes and that infectious smile! He made friends easily yet was always sensitive to the quiet observer or the shy individual who didn't quite know how to join in the fun or conversation. Ellington was the problem solver and a 'social worker' at an early age and as these attributes matured and expanded, they served him well throughout his college and work experiences.  Ellington was a man who turned his passions into profitable endeavors. His 'other jobs' were well chosen. His love of animals, especially dogs, led him and his twin to establish a dog service. They boarded dogs, walked dogs, rescued dogs and even scheduled playdates. Jaxx, P.J., Biscuit, Chester, Pineapple, Sasha, Layla, and Myles, to name a few, never complained! Before Mom and big brother Earl knew it, they were part of the business! Who could say NO to Ellington's tilted head, big eyes and sparkling smile begging you to "Just help out this ONE time"? And so ... the family business was born.  Cars! Cars! Cars! Another passion that made Ell smile. His own 2004 Custom Jeep Wrangler, a graduation gift from his cousin Lesley, was his pride and joy! Cleverly, to further ensure his exposure to exciting makes and models, he worked as a Car Valet for Ameri Park Valet Services @ Phipps Plaza Mall. What a perfect way to turn passion into cash!   The meaning of FRIENDSHIP ... a relationship with someone known, trusted and appreciated, dictated Ell's inner circle. He had great respect for the concept of friendship and his 'Buddies' were near and dear to his heart. One or more of them was always ready to venture out and enjoy the world. The National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC, SantaCon in New York City, trips to North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Martha's Vineyard, New Jersey, Louisiana and Colorado were some of his destinations. Accompanied by family or 'The Buddies', Ellington enjoyed his life to the fullest.   Ellington's legacy is very clear. Be kind, don't judge, find your passion and continue to grow. His plan was to enter graduate school in the Fall of 2019 ... still growing and improving.   The 'song' named Ellington Lloyd Adams, affectionately called Ell, ended on Saturday, July 27, 2019 but ... the melody lingers on.  Remember to HUM that MELODY!  Ellington leaves to cherish his memories: mother-Susann Smith-Adams; father-Earl L. Adams Ill, MD; brothers-Earl L. Adams IV and Spencer Grey Adams; grandparents-Earl L. Adams, Jr. and Ezola Adams; aunts-Jacqueline Clark (David E.) and Robbi Adams; uncle-Barry Adams (Vickee); cousins-Jennifer Carlisle (Monique and Maya), Victoria Carlisle, Jr. (Seth), David W. Clark  (Savannah), Jordan Adams and Brody Adams; devoted friends- The Travel Buddies; faithful dogs-Jaxx, P.J. and Layla; and a host of family members and friends.  Ellington has joined our angels in heaven!
