Marguerite Doris Stamm

Marguerite Doris Sutton Stamm, 94, of Conyers, Georgia, formerly of Miami, Florida, went to be with our Father in heaven on September 20, 2019. Doris was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on November 15th, 1924, the youngest of three sisters, Edna Ferguson and Nell Swedenborg, she has joined them in heaven. Leaving behind the youngest and only brother, Carl Sutton of Nashville, Tennessee. She was married on November 24th, 1944 in Conway, SC to the love of her life Donald Alton Stamm, who went to be with the Lord August 1985, shortly after their 40th wedding anniversary. Don and Doris, as friends and family new them, went on a weeklong journey to Miami, Florida in 1955 with their two young boys, Mike and Johnny, and decided to stay. In Miami they raised their two sons and had a third child, Susan, on Doris’s 36th birthday. Doris left the home that she made with her beloved husband Don in Miami in 2018, and moved to Conyers, Georgia with her daughter Susan. Doris worked for National Airlines in the early years then stayed home to raise children. At the age of 40 she went to nursing school where she attained a final score of 701 out of 700, the highest score in the state. Doris worked at Snapper Creek Nursing home for 10 years then American Hospital, now known as Kendall Regional Hospital. She worked as an LPN until she retired at the age of 72, to help raise her grandchildren. Doris lived with her late sister Edna, together they traveled, visited sister Nell, and took care of each other. They belonged to Riverside Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. Doris loved to travel, she loved God and she loved her family. She is survived by her son Michael, daughter Susan, brother Carl, and the wife of her late beloved son John, Aida Stamm, grandchildren; Chris, Nikki, Sarah, Theresa, Tony, Ariana, Jason, Jessica and Michael. Great-grandchildren; Olivia, Benjamin, Ashley, Brady, Saddie, Kaitlyn, Jacquelyn and Jonathan. She will finally get to meet Hannah. A memorial service will be held at the family home in Conyers, Georgia, please call for the address and directions, on Saturday October 19, 2019, at 2 p.m. A living urn with the remains of Doris and Don together will be honored with a weeping willow in remembrance of an amazing woman who had an amazing life, bringing joy to all of those that she encountered. If you would like to contribute something, please bring or send something that reminds you of Doris, or both Don and Doris. It needs to be something that can be outside, perhaps a stone with a thought or a prayer (can be homemade), seeds to plant under the tree, or a windchime for the tree, and they will be placed there to remind all who visit how much she is loved and missed.
