The Obituary Edgar Horace Hale Sr. was born on September 14th 1931 to Matt Hale and Velma Love, in Ensley Station Alabama. Edgar was raised in the church and he accepted Christ at a young age. Bertha Broadhead his beloved grandmother, raised Edgar along with his parents, and instilled the importance of Godly faith. As a young teenager Edgar and his mother relocated to Detroit, Mi. where Ed graduated from Northern Senior High School, there he met Clarice Fox and married her in 1951. Edgar also joined the Navy that same year. From the union with Clarice Fox, 4 children were born, Edgar Jr. (Ricky) Sheryl, Susan and Serena. Edgar received an honorable discharge from the Navy. To support his family, Ed worked at Stroh's Brewery, General Motors Fisher Body and The Burroughs Corporation. Ed loved photography and later became a Real Estate Broker with his own company. In 1971, Ed married Sharon Winfield and within their marriage she bore a son, Girard Leroy Hale. Edgar relocated to Georgia along with his long time companion Amy; they began a new beginning with their infant daughter Carrie Velma Hale. In Georgia, Edgar started a new career in the Hospitality Industry, with Radisson Hotels and the Omni Hotel for many years. He retired from Dustaway Corporation in 2005. The memories that Edgar leaves us to cherish are innumerable, and precious. Edgar was blessed with 13 brothers and sisters; Leroy, Richard, Gene, Glenn, Michael, Barbara, Vivian, Annette, and Jackie. Preceding Edgar in death; Darnell, James, Charles, Jeanette. Edgar was blessed with 10 Grand Children and 8 Great Grand Children and numerous nieces and nephews. Edgar loved to encourage young people. He had several young friends that loved him, and were loyal to him. Ed was a great cook and loved to cook fabulous dinners. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He enjoyed many memorable fishing expeditions with his brothers, Glenn and Michael. Ed was a straight shooter, there was never a guessing moment with him, and he always spoke his mind. He was an avid animal lover and throughout the years had many pets. His beloved dog "Pup" was his heart and Babe his cat, was special to him as well. His Legacy of Love will Live on... ... ... ...
