EX WifeChuck was a loving father and I would not have been able to raise our three children without him. Even though we were divorced he helped me raise our children in many more ways than I can mention. Helped me with Cheerleading uniforms, dance costumes, baseball practices, a new pool in our backyard in Stockbridge, a down payment on Anne’s new home, Robin’s college education, and Charlton’s rehabilitation, and many many many more ways. He will be sorely missed and his children will always remember and love the things they shared with him. He was a good man and loved his children. I know he believed with his heart and soul in the Lord and I’m sure he is with Him as we speak now. I’m glad to know that he is in no pain now and that he can rest. Thanks for all the wonderful memories and our beautiful children. And they are extremely BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
Brook Hollow DriveThe year was 1979. The Thornton family had moved to this neat little cul-de-sac in Rex, GA called Brook Hollow Dr. Across the circle was a little house where Chuck and Carla Trimble lived. Chuck, with his El Camino and Carla with her Jeep Cherokee. Soon came Charlton, then Anne and finally Robin. I can still see Chuck pulling into the circle and his driveway, Carla cutting the grass in her bathing suit. Charlton pulling his little red wagon with his jar of change for the ice cream man and Anne and Robin with their endless supply of hair bows. You girls had a different hair bow for every thing you wore! For years you all were our neighbors but most of all you were friends. Even though we lost touched with your family you were never far from our thoughts and hearts. Such wonderful, sweet memories of those years. Chuck is in the arms of Angels now. May you find peace and acceptance in the coming days, weeks, months and years. God has you wrapped in his arms. With much love, Jim, Charlotte, Travis, Ruby and Traci Thornton
Uncle ChuckI have a lot of fond memories of “Uncle Chuck.” I remember his beautiful wedding to Aunt Carla. I remember when he and Carla owned Oz Records he would always “hook me up” with whatever Star Wars soundtracks was coming out. I’ll never forget when he showed up at Pop’s house with the double-LP for “The Empire Strikes Back.” I must have worn that thing out. Chuck was always very nice to us kids, and a very warm person. We always had our Easter egg hunts at his house. I haven’t seen him in years, but I will always think of him fondly. I am sad that he is gone. I will pray for my cousins and the rest of the family during this sad time. I am sorry I can’t make it to the funeral tomorrow, but you will be in my thoughts.
EncouragerChuck was a true hero. He lived recovery, and his saying was always, “Everybody ought to have my problems.” He was honest enough to admit he had problems, but knew with God’s help and the friendship of a few he could make it. He also knew what it takes to be a friend. Chuck will truly be missed by the Martin family, but we are very grateful to have known him and his encouraging smile.
We are thinking of Chuck’s family as the anniversary of his death is near. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Chuck was a good friend and neighbor to us and our son, Jeremy. We still think of him often.
PATTY , I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT CHUCK. YOU DON’T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT YA’LL. I JUST LOST MY HUSBAND RALPH AFTER 40 YEARS TOGETHER. AGAIN I’M SORRY TO HEAR THAT.
Patty, I want to send my Heart felt prayers for you and Chuck’s children. Had Chuck been sick? I would like to make a donation, could you give me some of the ones Chuck would have endorsed….Once again Chuck will be gratly missed by all. Love, Marty Cardwell Williams
My condolences to Chuck’s remaining family and friends – especially to Patty. For a couple of years when I was a teenager, Chuck was a great friend and brother. I will always remember how hard he worked and the aspirations he had for himself. Patty, I wish you well and miss you very much. If there is ever a time when you would like to talk about Chuck and share fond remembrances, I am happy to oblige. You can call me at 703-868-7791. Be well and at peace. Mike
To Chucks family: We thought of Chuck as a family member to our family. We loved him so dearly and treasured the times we got to spend together with him which were few and far between. To his children, please know how much he loved you. We were never around Chuck that he wasn’t speaking of his children with great love. We rest assured that we will see him again one day as he so loved the lord.He was a shining example of strenght in that there is nothing you can’t do and overcome through the love of Christ!!!!! You will be GREATLY missed our friend. We love you and envy you that you get to be in your eternal home with our precious lord and savior.Rest in PEACE.
My thoughts and prayers are with Chucks’ family. He was a classmate at Palmetto High.
