Helen Rebecca Carey, 90, passed away Thursday, July 05, 2012 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville, GA. Ms. Carey was born in Atlanta, GA on January 13th, 1922. She is the daughter of the lateThomas Jefferson Thompson, and Freddie Leola Thompson. She retired from Owens Illinois Glass Company. Ms. Carey was also of the Baptist Faith. She is preceded in death by Daughters; Shirley Ann Cochran, Linda Faye Dettmerring, Sandra Frances Carey, and son; Thomas Franklin Carey. She is the widow of the late Lucis Franklin Carey. Survivors include; Daughters, Helen Patricia Jones of Selma, AL, Barbara Elaine Ayers of Newnan, GA, Nancy Lee Carroll of Palmetto, GA, and Judy Renee Busha of Union City, GA. 19 Grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren also survive. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 7th, 2012 in the chapel of Holly Hill Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Buddy Waldrop officiating. The internment service will follow at Shadnor First Baptist Church Cemetery.
