Announcing the Homegoing of an Angel Bradie Lee Fletcher January 20th, 1937 - July 12th, 2012 "Now Faith is the substance of all things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen." Hebrews 11:1 Services to be Held July 12th, 2012 4 O'clock PM 1400 Main Street Palmetto, GA 30268 Bradie Lee Fletcher was born on January 20th, 1937 in Grapeland, TX to Fred Fletcher and La La Strange. She was the baby girl of 16 children of this union. The family then relocated to Wasco, CA where she grew up. The family then relocated to Sacramento, CA where she graduated from Mc Clatchy High School in 1953. Bradie then married and had four children: Verna, Rick, Chester, and Cheryl. She loved and raised her children. She enjoyed playing games with them such as football, basketball, cards, and scrabble. She then moved to Marion, SC in 1973. She was the first black director of the state of South Carolina for disabled children in Florence, SC. She then moved back to Sacramento, CA where she was the director of many daycare facilities until she acquired her own. She operated that for 10 years until she went to work for California Vital Statistics where she served another 10 years until retiring. She loved to fish, gamble, bingo, play Phase 10, and watch tennis. She loved talking to her family and best friend, Diane Bennett. Laughter was a must for Bradie. She was very funny- being off beat and singing in many choirs where she would sing songs she didn't even know. She also loved to travel. She had seen it all from cruise ships, trains, and planes. She also loved Mexican or anything hot and spicy! Her Sisters and Brothers that are still living are: Jewel Irons, Tom Fletcher(Helen), Freddie May Butcher, Odell Fletcher(Bennie), Gladys Kennedy(Joe), Harold Wright(Pam), MC(Ernestine), and Joe. She loved them unconditionally and talked to them every day till laughter filled the room. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved playing games and talking to them. Her great grandchildren always made her day. Bradie was on the Mothers board and a faithful member of church. She sang in choirs and wore her white proudly. Her last church was St. John Baptist Church in Bakerfield, CA. Bradie was preceded in death by her parents; Fred Sr. and La La Fletcher; her Son's, Rick and Chester; Granddaughter, Nicole Allen; Brothers and Sisters, Fred Jr., Minnie Bell, Lousie Fletcher, Bealuh Butcher, Geno Fletcher, Albert Fletcher, and Rudy Cole. Her memories are cherished by survivors; Verna Curtis of Sacramento, CA; Cheryl Erby of Sacramento, CA; Son in Law, Byron Smith of Atlanta, GA; Daughter in Law, Eva Erby of Atlanta, GA; Grandchildren, Darnell Erby, Lisa Wood, Ross Curtis, Johnathan Curtis, Quita Smith Byrisha Smith, Malcolm Smith, Anthony Miles, Julius Miles, Crystal Miles, Richard Miles, Salima and Charlea Carey; Great Grandchildren, Nevaeh and Demetreus Erby, Phillip Green, Malachi and Makayla Adams, Zebadiah Carey, King and Mozah Carey . To my Mother, I will always remember you for your love and courage. You were and always will be my best friend. Now you're in a mansion with gold, I hear! So live the good life with no more suffering my dear! Life will be different, yes, but nothing will change your love you had for me.
