Homer Jay Turner Sr., age 81, of 8425 Teal Road in Fairburn, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Bernise Turner and the late Bernice Turner. Mr. Turner was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Homer Turner is survived by his wife, Ann Turner of Union City; daughter, Barbara Turner of Fairburn; son, David Turner of Union City; son, Homer Turner Jr. of Griffin; 9 Grandchildren and 10 grandchildren; and sister, Betty Ramey of Fairburn. Funeral services for Mr. Homer Jay Turner Sr. will be held Friday, January 25, 2013 at 2 o'clock in the chapel of Holly Hill Funeral Home. Paster Sandra Netherland will officiate. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. Family will receive friends for visitation the evening of Thursday, January 24, 2013 between the hours 6 and 8 o'clock. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to defray funeral expenses. so its been a year now of uncle homer passing. and still he has not been forgotten. uncle homer is being missed every day of my life. im so sorry that i never got a chance to see him or my kids meet him. uncle homer will always be in my heart. i love you uncle homer!
I have known Homer all my life,sorry to hear of his passing, he was a good and respectful man. I know he will be missed by all,
my mom was homers uncle and im just sad that he pass away i barley knew him but in my heart i knew he was a great person. in homer we trust. god bliss you homer :,( we all love you.
I pray Uncle Homer is resting in peace and that he was met at heavens gate by my daddy and Momma ( Albert and Sara ) and the rest of his family that has passed before, I pray he is happy. I am sorry for our family for this loss, Homer was a special uncle and as my daddy’s only brother they were close and I hope they are together now watching over us and laughing at old memories. Uncle Homer was a wonderful man, He always made me smile. I lived right down the road from him and aunt Ann. I used to go up to there house all the time. He would ask if i wanted something to eat or drink. Or how was i doing. Not only homer was a Uncle to me he was a friend a father figure. I will never forget all the story he told me. All the smile he made me smile, most of all i wont forget my dear uncle Homer. R.I.P I love you always.
I grew up knowing Homer. He was like a father to me, i use to go to his home as a child and sit in his workshop for hours watching him build bird boxes. After builing he would fix me some of his homemade soup, he made the best soup. He was a good person, a great friend and I will miss him, i will see u one day,, R-I-P HOMER J TURNER … WE LOVE U
