My Sweet Aunt Doris To My Sweet Aunt Doris This is a love letter in honor and memory of my Sweet Aunt Doris. She always showed us all what family and love mean. She was always there for all of us. A call is all it took and she was there for you. She rejoiced in your happiness and triumphs and mourned your sadness and losses. She and Uncle Tom always opened their home to her family in need (and friends) from Mother, brothers, sisters, sons, grandchildren, nieces, nephews. She was always so joyful and so much fun to be around (I have a funny story about Aunt Gracie and Aunt Doris on the beach). Her laugh is in my mind and heart and so many happy memories of times with her. I lived on the same street with Aunt Doris all my growing up years. Then moved next door to her as a young Mother. She also was with my Mom when I was born so she was like my second mother. There was a huge homecoming in heaven today and I have no doubt she is wearing a big crown because she was an amazing Lady that showed us all how to be a Christian with love and care. My world is a darker place today and my heart will always miss her, but I know I will see her in my own homecoming. I love you always, Aunt Doris, Your niece, Patsy Reno Huff
By the BonfireWhen Michael & I married on New Year’s Eve 1999, Doris was there hanging out ’til midnight snuggled up next to the reception bonfire. It was bone chilling cold, but Doris helped us celebrate our marriage and brought in the new millennium with us. Doris was a trooper. She was always lots of fun. I’m glad she can now join Tom in heaven. Sincerely, Rhonda Weatherup
