Frank Edward Fulghum

December 7, 1940 ~ September 14, 2019

On Saturday, September 14, 2019, a good and faithful servant, Rev. Frank Edward Fulghum (age 78) answered the call of his Saviour and entered into eternal rest. A resident of Palmetto, Georgia, for 40 years, his sunrise occurred on December 7, 1940 in Carnesville as the precious first-born son to Holland and Estelle (Hill) Fulghum. The family grew to include: Johnny Ray (wife, Linda Faye); Jimmy Roger; Thomas David; Doris Stevens (husband Ronald); Linda Louise Davis; and Mary Evelyn Hornsby (husband Tommy). As a small-town boy growing-up in Franklin and Stephens County, Frank was adored by aunts, uncles, cousins, and childhood friends. As a youngster he enjoyed all-day cowboy picture-shows, as well as developed a sweet-tooth working in the local drugstore with rewards of all the chocolates he desired. Memories of those days are fondly recalled each September during annual family reunions in Royston and Toccoa, GA. A veteran of the US Army (1958-1961), Frank, SP4, served in Korea as a driver to Generals and others along the DMZ. Discharging back to the Stanton Road community in East Point, Franks life began within a close-knit circle of family and friends as he found work at the local rug mill. There too began the most beautiful bond of marriage of 57 years to Barbara Ann Wiles in February 1962. Frank and Barbara were richly blessed with four children: Vince, Vickie, Richard "Pete" and years later Marguerite. The joy doubled with the arrival of grandchildren Cori, Garen, Chris, and Andrew; tripling with great-grandchildren Jordan, Katie Paige and Kali Grace. Frank humbly provided for his family working as a truck driver (Everett Seed Company, Zellner) and retiring after an exemplary award-winning career at G-P Trucking. Frank was called to Gospel Ministry at the age of 28 and ordained at Hope Baptist Church in College Park, GA. His years spreading the Word of God rewarded him with hundreds of Brothers and Sisters in Christ who celebrate his homecoming.
