JOANN ELAINE VETTER – JoAnn Vetter, 76, passed away on July 16, 2023, at Wellstar Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain due to complications from the lymphoma she fought so hard.
She was born October 7, 1946, in Oakland, CA, the daughter of Wilfred and Muriel Wanless. JoAnn graduated from Pioneer High School, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Class of 1964. She created a successful career in software and real estate before happily retiring in 2016. In addition to her love for her family and The Atlanta Braves, JoAnn enjoyed sewing, volunteer work, bowling, puzzles, and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Jim Oliver. Surviving in addition to her husband, Ralph (Pete) Vetter, are her daughter, Kris Coulombe; son, Greg Knapp; stepson Phillip Vetter and his wife, Aimee; stepdaughter Nikki Franklin; four grandchildren, Will Franklin, Carsen Vetter, Asa Franklin, and Noah Franklin; one sister, Marilyn Shosey and her husband, Chuck, in addition to many other family and friends who loved her.
A service of remembrance will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, July 22 in the Columbarium at Southern Cremations & Funerals, 1861 Dallas Highway, Marietta, GA 30064. The family will be there to receive guests who would like to visit and share memories of JoAnn beginning at 10:00 am leading up to the service. Time cannot steal the treasures that we carry in our hearts. I was sorry to learn that you had lost your JoAnn.
Joann you were always such a joy to be around. Your bright bubbly smile was enough to brighten anyone’s day. You will truly be missed my friend.
