Sandra Elaine Lark

November 23, 1951 ~ February 2, 2024

Sandra Elaine Lark, a loving mother, a cherished sister, and a wonderful friend passed away in the early hours of February 2, 2024. Sandye was born in 1951 in New York City and grew up surrounded by her five siblings, as well as her aunts, uncles, and plenty of cousins. Sandye danced to the beat of her own drums and loved sharing her joy with others. When she became a mother in 1981, Sand ye moved out of the Big Apple to live a simpler life in the up-and-coming city of Hotlanta! With her bestie Carolyn Slatter-Herndon (Aunt Jiffy) in tow, they began exploring the cultural freedoms that Atlanta had to offer two young single mothers. Sandye loved music, the arts, and sports. She almost never missed the free annual Jazz Festival at Piedmont Park or a Braves game. Besides being a great mother, she also became a proud grandmother and a "dog mom." Sandye had so much to give and always opened her doors to family and friends whenever they were in town for a spell. She will be greatly missed by her one and only son, her sisters and brothers and grand kids. We know that we can't keep her forever, but we are happy to still have such beautiful memories of her forever in our hearts. Farewell to a wonderful woman and a beautiful soul. Sandra is survived by her son Justin Lark and grand boys Jayden and Joshua. Her sisters and brothers Cynthia Roper (Joe), Clarence and Janice Coleman, Jeff Haroz (Jaqueline), John Moore, and Charlene Plummer. Her nieces and nephews Kimberly Slatter-Woodward, Jayson Roper, Gena Lawson, Jordan and Jared Haroz, Tracey Coleman Mutumbo (David) and Kelley Coleman Nduom (Edjah). Her grandnieces and nephews Nicholas, Colin and Evan Roper, Joseph and Emily Nduom, and Zuri Mutombo. And will be deeply missed by the Roache Family.

  1. My sincerest condolences to you Justin. Your mom was a phenomenal woman who was very caring and sincere. She never spoke a word she didn’t mean. I have had the privilege of watching her grow and being her friend since you were in middle school. Please know that Sandye was loved and respected by me and many others.
