Joyce Laverne English

Joyce Laverne Andrews English of Martinez Ga passed away August 18, 2023 in Summerville SC in the care of her daughter Valerie and SC Hospice. She was born in Augusta GA March 20, 1936 and was the sixth of eight children born to Elbert and Gladys Andrews. She later married Airforce Airman 3rd Class Dorland Eugene English on May 24, 1954 and over the next 20 years lived in Arizona, Holland, South Carolina, Japan and Texas, before her husband retired from the Airforce and moved back to GA, first to Milledgeville and later to Martinez GA. Her favorite pastimes were attending Craft Shows and Antique Malls, as well as, drawing and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents Elbert and Gladys Andrews, Her husband Dorland English, and 6 of her seven siblings Amos Andrews, ET Andrews, Jack Andrews, Estell Andrews, Mary Gray, and Gladys Rosier. She is survived by her sister Shirley Boyd of Newnan GA, four children, Crystal Witt of Woodstock GA, Valerie Timms of Goose Creek SC, Cynthia Shepherd of Clinton MS, and Clayton English of Martinez GA, as well as 10 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be at Southern Cremations and Funeral Home 1861 Dallas Hwy, Marietta GA on August 23rd from 2-5pm and Burial will be Georgia National Cemetery on August 24th at 10am.
