It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Pervis LaVar Hankins of McDonough, GA. on January 17, 2024, at the age of 51 years.
Born in Saginaw, MI, on January 22, 1972, to Mary Elizabeth Harris and the late Johnny Lee Bailey Jr., Pervis was a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew him.
Pervis was a devoted father to Nathaniel Xzayvier Hankins and Nedeja Reyes, and a loving grandfather to James Jah Jr. and Jamias Jah. His role as a family man was one he held close to his heart, always providing guidance, support, and unconditional love.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Harris (Liz); his siblings, Xavier LaVelt Hankins and DeEtra LaShan Hankins True Jones (Thomas Jones); his niece Quevaughna Hines, nephew Christopher True II, Great nieces Robyn and Ravyn Hines, and great nephew Robert Hines II his children, and his grandsons and a host of other family and friends. Pervis's presence in their lives was a source of joy and inspiration, and his memory will forever be treasured.
Pervis's journey through life was marked by his friendly demeanor, his sense of humor, and his ability to make everyone around him feel special. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his compassionate heart, and his unwavering loyalty to his friends and family.
Pervis's life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of family bonds, and the beauty of friendship. His legacy will continue in the hearts of those who loved him and the many lives he touched.

Rest in peace, Pervis. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

Parvis was not my friend. He was my little brother and I’m really gonna miss him.I love you and miss you lil Bro I remember in junior high school my little brother used to be late for his classes to make sure I got to my class on time because I was on crutches. Dear family, in the Bible death is described as the last enemy.(1 Corinthians 15:26) Although many well meaning people say God knows best” many people find this remark more cutting than comforting. Death breaks into our lives and rob us of those we hold dear. My condolences. Debby
