David Norman Wasik

March 4, 1948 ~ February 3, 2024

David Norman Wasik, 75, passed away peacefully at home on February 3, 2024. He was born in Buffalo, New York, on March 4, 1948. David served in the US Navy from 1967-1970. In Vietnam, he served as a Navy Corpsman. He went on to work in retail management until he retired in 2013. He is survived by his wife Sylvia Oneida Wasik of Ellijay, Georgia, sister Kathleen Wasik of Buffalo, New York, stepson Perry Andrew Kitchens and wife Cyndy Kay Kitchens of Plant City, Florida, stepdaughter Sharon Lee Kitchens of Rainsville, Alabama, and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Southern Cremations and Funerals Columbarium followed by a burial at Georgia National Cemetery on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Georgia National Cemetery. Reverend Mike Davis of Unity of the Mountains will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.

  2. Susan and I have many fond memories of David. He was always so cheerful and friendly. We had a great stay in Nashville a few years ago. We always looked forward to having dinners together, talking about the Bills, music and life. He is and will be missed.
