Orville "Bobby" Layton

September 23, 1966 ~ January 1, 2025

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Orville "Bobby" Octavious Layton, age 58, who left us on January 1, 2025, at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Bobby was born on September 23, 1966, in Kingston, Jamaica, W.I., to his loving mother, Lois Alberta Layton and late father, Royal George Layton. Bobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves daughter Kimberly and son-in-law, and grandsons Kingston and Zaire, all of whom he cherished deeply. He is also survived by his siblings: Janet, Michelle, Michael, Troy, and Gregory, as well as his sisters-in-law, Sharon and Marcia, nieces, nephews, many cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family members who will remember him fondly. A skilled and respected Master Electrician, Bobby dedicated his life to his craft, and his work and commitment earned him the admiration of colleagues and friends alike. But beyond his career, it was his caring nature, and infectious sense of humor that defined him. Bobby was always there for those he loved through laughter or support. His warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Bobby was cremated, and a memorial service will be held in his honor on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Southern Cremation & Funerals at Holly Hill Memorial Park, located at 431 SW Broad Street, Fairburn, GA 30213. All family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Bobby’s life and legacy. Bobby’s love for his family and his gentle spirit will live on in all of us. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bobby’s memory to the American Heart Association.

  6. Hey Bobby. You know I will miss you right? Still can’t believe you are gone. Your love for Bob Marley music and other studio one music. I will think of the good times growing up together with our siblings and our cousins. When we all got in trouble you took the blame for us or try to pass it on 🤭. You came up with skits for us to do on a Saturday either pretend Ring Ding or Where It’s At dance off or your version of Miss Lou. You certainly was a trip. I enjoyed running a “boat” (cooking outdoors) with wood fire making boiled dumplings with ackee and natural seasoning..Yum yum. You were the dumpling king but I must admit you can throw down in the kitchen. I will miss your crusty laugh (inside joke) and smile. But most important, I will forever miss you asking me and me telling you at the end of our talk “cuz you know I love right?” Yep I do and I love you back forever. You never stop saying that to people and that was one of your great quality that I admire. Cuz, I will miss you and rest up. You know I love you right? Forever….

  7. My condolences to you Mama Love, Diane Michelle and the entire family during this difficult time. Praying for your strength.

  8. Thanks for all of the love that you brought to the Robinson family over the years. From your grateful and appreciative nephew Damien. God bless you and may you find eternal peace and rest in power. 🌹🙏🏾

  9. It’s been bitter sweet with the transitioning of Bobby. When I met Bobby he was so determined to marry me that he said he was 10 years older then his real age. We actually had to change the birthday on our marriage certificate.
When Bobby wanted something he pursued. He pursued his studies in becoming a master electrician.
20 years of marriage and one beautiful daughter Kimberly kept us connected.
It blesses me most to know Bobby gave his life to God.
The one thing I know Bobby loved his daughter, his mom, his family and me.
Forever in my thoughts rest in peace.

    Janice

  10. Dianne (Michelle) Layton says:

I Thought Of You With Love
    Today
    Author Unknown
I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too,
I think of you in silence I often speak your name
All I have are memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is my keepsake with which I’ll never part
God has you in His keeping
I have you in my heart.

  11. For my brother Orville who had a beautiful spirit. Gone too soon. Love you always and forever .
