Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Abiodun “Billy” Adelani Adeniran, 60, of Woodstock, GA, passed away peacefully in his sleep during the wee hours of Thanksgiving morning, November 22, 2018.
Billy was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, where he first developed a love of math and science. He later arrived to the states to further his education, attaining a degree in Chemistry from Central State University in Wilberforce, OH.
Upon graduation, Billy moved to Georgia and soon after began working at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, in which he worked for the last 29 years as Banquet Captain. He was a reliable worker and diligent leader; always going above and beyond.
When he wasn’t working, he was excelling in finding deals (at Home Depot, Saks, or Macy’s), working on his yard, cooking (favorites including omelets, obe eja tutu (fish stew), or salmon), or dancing to music that blared from the home surround sound. He was passionate about traveling and experiencing a variety of different cultures, people, food and wine.
Billy had an upstanding manner, industrious spirit, and a laugh that could be heard from across the room.
Lover of education, hospitality, and travel, but mostly, a lover of people. When asked if there were any last words he wanted passed on, Billy, with tears in his eyes, stated, “I love my family and I love everybody.”
Abiodun leaves behind his deeply loved daughters, Adenike Adeniran and Ryane Adeniran; cherished siblings, Adewale Adeniran, P.E., Adeyinka Adeniran, Adesola Adeniran-Akinlabi, and Adeniyi Adeniran; treasured family members, Larry Lamodi and the Lamodi family, Donna Ellis and the Ellis family, Gina Hart and the Hart family, as well as many other friends and coworkers, whom all felt like family.
