Adam Charles Verret was born November 15, 1937 to Herman J. And Frances Richour Verret in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was baptized December 18, 1937. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army on August 15, 1958 and served in Korea. While in Korea he met and married Bung (Susan) Jo Shin on June,23 1960. They were married 59 years and four days. While in the Army Adam received th Carbine Marksman Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Adam was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on July 31, 1964. He and Susan then lived in California a few years where Adam got an associate degree. They later settled in Norcross, Georgia where Adam’s parents had relocated. Adam and Susan came to know the Lord through a TV ministry (700 Club) and had the privilege of leading Adam’s parents to the Lord.
In the 70's they enjoyed attending Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship meetings and continued to grow in their faith. Adam and Susan were both self-taught Bible students studying many hours. Adam was a whiz at Bible trivia. Adam and Susan enjoyed a trip to Israel in 2000 with the Norcross Church of God.
Adam worked for Lockheed for over 25 years in shipping and receiving and retired from there. Adam and Susan moved to Paulding county in 2002 and had a beautiful home and yard of which they were proud.
Adam started showing dementia symptoms a few years ago. They sold their home in 2017 and moved into a senior living facility. Adam had further setbacks after fracturing his hip in March of this year. Since then he was at the Wellstar Paulding Nursing and Rehab in Dallas, Georgia where he received excellent care.
Adam entered his new home in heaven on June 27, 2019. Adam was a sweet man and had a very infectious smile and quick wit! He will be missed greatly! He is survived by his sister Eve Wilson of Hermitage, Tennessee and by his loving wife, Susan.
Family and friends will meet in the Columbarium at Southern Cremations & Funerals on Monday, July 1, 2019 from 9-10 am. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 am with Pastor Jim Castle officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to their church, Hearts on Fire, 4010 Fambrough Dr., Powder Springs GA 30127.
