Adline Atkins was born on October 11, 1930 to Johnnie and Missouri Funches in Dubbs, Mississippi. She was one of ten children. She was united in marriage at an early age to Joseph Lee Atkins. They relocated to Benton Harbor, Michigan. Of this union there were eight children.
She confessed Christ at an early age. While living in Michigan, she was an active member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church; where she sang in the choir and was a volunteer on the usher board. Adline loved to visit the sick and shut-ins on a regular basis, sharing her love, kindness, joy and the gospel of Jesus Christ. She also loved fishing and spending time with family and friends. She worked at Bargains Center department store for several years and retired as a Hospital Food Service Worker. After retiring she moved to North Carolina before settling in Georgia.
She departed this life on Monday, May 11, 2020 in Marietta, Georgia. She leaves to cherish her memories: five sons, Joseph Lee Atkins Jr of Kentucky, Christopher Kevin Atkins of Georgia, Percy D Atkins of Michigan, Saville Atkins of Georgia, Seaton Atkins of Georgia; two daughters, Ellen Augustine of North Carolina and Doris A Jones of Mississippi. 27 Grand Children and 23 Great Grand Children. One sister, Madie B Johnson of Illinois and a host of relative and friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Janice Windmon, four sisters, Honey Funches, Roxie Funches, Johnetta McKinney and Ada Mae Long; four brothers, Luther Funches, Joe Funches, Louis Funches and Johnnie Funches Jr.
