Alden Nolting of Ashley Ohio was born on December 26, 1934, and went to be with his Lord on December 26, 2023, at the age of 89. He leaves behind a wife of 68 years (Lorraine Kern Nolting). He was proceeded in death by a son, Timothy Lynn Nolting. He is survived by his children, Bret Craig Nolting (Knoxville TN), Bradley Lee Nolting (Marietta GA), Cynthia Lou Minter (Palmetto GA) and grandchildren Kristin Harris (Rome GA), Brandy Connell (Adairsville GA) and Rachel Hambrick (Blue Ridge GA. He is also survived by multiple great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Remembering my little brother, “Butch” Alden Nolting. Also known as “Captain Lightfoot”
Partners in crime – we started a fire in a large dead tree near our neighbor’s property line. That afternoon we had taken matches and a kitchen pan, (unknown to our mother) and cooked ourselves an afternoon snack in the tree opening. – carefully pouring water over the ashes. In the middle of the night, we were awakened by the fire engine’s siren and forced to confess we were guilty! To our surprise, we got off easy this time – and promised “to never play with matches again.”
