Ann Stamets Boutcher

Ann Stamets Boutcher, 91, formerly of Holland Township, NJ, and a dedicated caregiver and beloved family matriarch, passed away peacefully with her family at her side after a determined battle with breast cancer.

Born on February 7, 1935, to the late Dr. George M. Stamets and Pauline (Hagan) Stamets, Ann spent her life in service to others. She graduated from Frenchtown High School, NJ with the Class of 1953 and went on to fulfill her passion for medicine, graduating from the Abington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1956.

Throughout her long and impactful career, Ann brought comfort and care to patients across several medical facilities. Her most enduring professional legacy was at Warren Hospital in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, where she served with distinction as the Head Nurse of the Neonatal Ward, welcoming countless newborns into the world. Later in life, she relocated to Spring Hill, Florida, where she continued her calling for 20 years as a compassionate home care nurse until her retirement.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roberts T. Boutcher, and her sister, Janey Thornton of Duluth, Georgia.

Her memory lives on through her devoted family. She is survived by her sons, G. Tyson Boutcher of Marietta, Georgia, and James S. Boutcher (Theresa) of Martinsburg, West Virginia; five cherished grandchildren; and five precious great-grandchildren.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
