Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Archie Lee Henderson was born to the late Earlie Henderson and Lucile Thomas Henderson on February 18, 1940 in Perrine, Miami-Dade County, Florida. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 6:42 pm.
Archie attended and graduated from Mays Senior High School in 1959. He then enlisted in the U. S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division as a radio operator and paratrooper at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. After his tour of duty, Archie returned to Perrine, Florida where he embarked on his life’s journey of becoming who we all know and love. He met and married Macie Lee Williams and was married for 13 years.
Archie worked as an aircraft mechanic for Aerodex, Inc. at Miami International Airport for approximately 7 years, until they closed. He then worked for Air Parts and supply for many years and loved his trade. He then moved on and worked for Gate Gourmet until his retirement in 2017. His hobbies included fishing, visiting friends, spending time with his children. He also loved visiting Bell’s Short Stop and participating in football parties with his friend, Pete Bell and others.
Archie led a rich and fulfilling life, right in Miami-Dade County, spending his time with family, friends; always connecting with everyone, making them smile. He moved to Powder Springs, Georgia in 2017 to spend his retirement years with his two children and grandchildren. Archie spent his time doing exactly what he wanted, on his terms, and cherished every minute of being with his children. Archie was a son, a brother, a father, a friend and was known and loved by all who met him and got to know him. We are blessed and humbled to have had the opportunity to spend time with him as he shared stories of his life, we would never otherwise have known.
Archie leaves to cherish his memory: two children, Janice and Anwar, stepson, Curtis Williams, grandchildren, Tracy Smith, great grandchild, Sean Smith, Hans Malone, Jr., Andrise Henderson, Ariana Lee Henderson, Aniya Henderson, and Tyler Henderson. Others that will forever cherish his memory include a host of other relatives and friends.
In Archie’s own parting words to all of us, which we all know and love to hear him say… “I’ll see you when I see you!”
