Marietta Southern Cremations & Funerals
Mrs. Barbara L. Hogan was born June 18, 1960 to James C. and Anna B. Lewis in Miami, Florida. She was loved and adored by them and she enjoyed a wonderful childhood. She attended the local Dade County schools including Miami Central High School where she played clarinet in the marching band, and where she also graduated from.
In January of 1977 Barbara and Keith Thornton had a baby boy who they named Keitron. Keitron became the center of her joy and remained her faithful son and best friend until her untimely demise. Barbara was quite creative. She loved sewing, and dreamed of being a fashion designer. She enjoyed cooking so much, and loved to make lots of food for her family and friends, who loved to gather and eat her wonderful and delicious dishes. A connisseur of seafood. Also a dog lover, and will be missed by her beloved Brandi.
In the early 80’s Barbara relocated to Atlanta, Georgia for her job, which she worked for 34 years and retired from the company the summer of 2016.
Truly, Barbara loved Jesus Christ and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anna B. Lewis and James C. Lewis. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted son Keitron Thornton (Heather), sisters, Carolyn Hamilton, North Lauderdale, Florida, Myrtle Jewell, Austell, Georgia, Lavone Cooper, Miami, Florida; grandchildren, Brittney Colar (Justin), Geovonna Gaynia, Christopher Gaynia; great-grandchildren, Madison Colar, Mason Colar, and many other sorrowing family and friends.

I would like to extend my condolences to the family and friends. May the Lord be with you all during this difficult period.
We stayed up all night to go stand in line for a live Tom Joyner Morning Show. It was January, and very cold. We got in line at 3:00 am and the show started at 6:00 am. We had the best time, laughing and talking and meeting others! We had blankets, wraps and head gear – I had hot chocolate and of course Barbara had coffee! It was something she and I reminisced over the years – it was crazy fun and Patti LaBelle was on the show! 😊
I loved Mrs. Barabara from day 1. She was just like an Aunt to me a true friend, a sweetheart, a shoulder to lean on whatever you needed she would give her last. Mrs. Barabara supported me throughout my Military career from the time I left om home breaks and when I returned she was at every dinner every function. You will ALWAYS have a place in my ❤. Love Always Leondra. Rest Well AUNTIE
Kietron and Family condolence to you all praying for comfort and strength.
