Betty Marion

June 3, 1928 ~ March 19, 2021

On Friday, March 19, 2021, Betty Marion, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 92. Betty was born in 1928 in Ohio to Elmer and Lorene. Though born in Ohio, Betty grew up in Harriman, Tennessee and then Mt. Airy, North Carolina where she met her husband, John Marion. John and Betty were married in 1945 and were married 61 years prior to John’s passing. Betty was a life-long learner and was not afraid to push herself out of her comfort zone. For instance, she self-taught herself how to play the organ and then became the organist for her church; she self-taught herself computer skills and then taught computer classes; she self-taught herself bookkeeping skills and then worked for and retired from the Cobb County Board of Education. However, her greatest accomplishment was her love for and dedication to her family, friends and church who could always count on her to be there for them. Betty was an extremely kind and compassionate spirit. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, John. Betty is survived by her children, John Marion and Mauricia Allen; her daughter-in-law Charlotte Marion; her grandchildren, Zachary, Jonathan (Nicole), Matthew and Michael; her great-grandchildren, Braydon, Kingsley, Paige, Jonah, MaKayla and Amelia; her brother Elmer; and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. We love you dearly Mom and will miss you terribly until we are together again. Funeral services with be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 11:00 am at Southern Cremation & Funerals at Cheatham Hill Columbarium - 1861 Dallas Highway Marietta, GA 30064, with visitation beginning at 10:00.
