Blossom Languedoc John‑Phillip
Blossom Languedoc John‑Phillip was born on September 26, 1948, to Ionie and John Bright Languedoc on the beautiful island of Dominica, known as the Nature Isle of the Caribbean. The seventh of thirteen children, Blossom lived a life rooted in service, faith, and love for others.
At the age of sixteen, Blossom began working as a pupil teacher and quickly became beloved by students. Answering a deeper calling, she later trained as a Registered Nurse Midwife, serving communities in Dominica and, after moving in 1978, the communities of St. Croix. There, she was known for her gentle spirit, steady hands, and deep compassion for young mothers and families. Blossom retired in 2003 from Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and later moved to Georgia to pour her love into helping raise her grandchildren.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and woman of faith, Blossom was active at Central Seventh‑day Adventist Church, where she served in the choir, Pathfinder Club, and as Sabbath School Superintendent. She found joy in crocheting, playing her favorite game Hay Day, and cherishing her four‑legged furry grands, whose playful and calming companionship brought her daily comfort.
Blossom is survived by her husband Alphonso John-Phillip; daughters, Allie Brown and Blanche Hodge; son‑in‑law Kelvin Hodge; and beloved grandchildren Nailah Brown, Austin Hodge, Blossom Hodge, and Carson Hodge. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Jordyn Brown.
She is also survived by her siblings Primrose Alexander; Donabel Pierre (spouse Leroy Pierre); Earlsworth Languedoc (spouse Selma Languedoc); and Charlesworth Languedoc (spouse Vania Languedoc), along with nieces Verna King, Theresa Chambers, Vernal Ijalanah, Ellen Fontenelle, and Gayle Riviere, and nephews Vernon Alexander, Vince Alexander, and Neehall Pierre, as well as many other nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
Karlene Kelly held a deeply special place in Blossom’s heart and was a constant source of strength and support for the family, being present during Blossom’s final days and offering care, comfort, and unwavering love. She also leaves to cherish her memory, Corron Jones, whom she embraced and loved as her own.
Blossom will be remembered for her strength, compassion, faith, and the boundless love she shared with family—by birth and by choice.
A Celebration of Life for Blossom will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Lakeview Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4001 Macedonia Road, Powder Springs, Georgia 30127.
