Brian Albert Afanador, age 59, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2020. He was a devoted father to his two girly girls, a competitive golfer, an avid fisherman, a passionate musician, a dedicated youth soccer coach, and a successful salesman. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Katie and Teddy Williams and Monica and Mark Fleury (Atlanta, GA); sisters, Carol Afanador (Sarasota, FL) and Lisa and husband Jim Turner (Paducah, KY); brothers, Craig Afanador (Townville, SC) and David Afanador and Ann Belliveau (Cleveland, OH); as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Due to current restrictions, a celebration of life will be planned for and communicated at a later date. He loved his daughters with his whole heart. It’s hard to comprehend that he’s no longer here, but I know he’s hosting a party in heaven. Sending love and hugs.

  4. Coach Brian, as I knew him, was one of my very first soccer coaches. I have such fond memories of my first years playing soccer mainly because of Coach Brian. The 1999 Metros will miss him.

  8. Charlie and I are so saddened by the loss of Brian. Charlie loved Brian and often told me what a great salesman, and even more important, devoted friend he was. Even after Brian was sick, I could hear Charlie laughing and joking with him; Brian never lost his contagious sense of humor. Although I didn’t know him personally, I knew he loved his daughters and was always there for them. We will continue to pray for you all. Love, Charlie and Jennifer Van Pelt

  9. Very sorry to hear about Brian’s passing. As his next-door neighbor for 6 years, I had a bunch of laughs and hit a few golf balls with him. Please keep me informed about the celebration of life either thru mikegrace430@gmail.com, or my cell (404)805-7769. Also I can keep Dom Martelli informed as well, unless he has already been kept in the loop. Thanks. Mike Grace

  10. I knew Brian for almost 3 years, he was not just a business partner but also became a close friend of mine. I have some wonderful moments hanging out with him. I never thought the last lunch we had on Feb 12, 2020 would be the last time I would see him. This all seems so surreal, still can’t believe he is taken away from us. Could never bring my son to meet you – but your gifts will be with him and us for rest of our life. I truly miss you. I pray for your soul – RIP my friend. CK

  11. Brian was one of the nicest and sweetest guys in high school! Always friendly and he knew how to make me laugh. I was so sad to hear of his passing. I’m so glad he made it to our 40th reunion at Norris Lake and that I was able to spend time with him. You could tell he was very proud of his daughters. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Rest in Peace, Brian. Patti (Ditzel) Hecht

  12. As good a guy as you’ll meet. I knew Brian professionally and he was a true joy to be around. He would stop by for lunch any time he was in the area. Most conversations revolved around golf and fish, but he always had interesting stories to tell no matter the topic. From these lunch conversations we could tell he was very proud of his daughters and enjoyed spending time with his brother. As I understand it, his brother can do just about anything. I’m just now hearing of his passing, so very sorry for the late comment. Prayers and hugs to the family. I will miss the laughs and good times with my good buddy Brian.
