Mrs. Carleen Rosalie Walker-Vines affectionately called “Muffy” was born in Mandeville, Manchester, Jamaica West Indies on August 26, 1964. Muffy was born to the late Mrs. Olive Walker, “Ninny” and Mr. Clifford Walker, “Dada.” Mrs. Olive Walker transitioned in November 1996, while Mr. Clifford Walker transitioned August 2015. Muffy attended Mandeville All Age School, then unto Mayday Secondary School. After graduating from secondary school, she attended the Porus Training Center in Mandeville to become a Seamstress. While attending the training center, she met Wayne Thompson, aka “Bangy.” From the relationship she had her first child, a beautiful daughter Kerry-Ann. Despite being a young pregnant woman, she never let it deter her from accomplishing her goals. She graduated from the training center as a Seamstress, and worked as a Seamstress for a few years.
After a few years of working as a Seamstress, she met her husband, Claude Vines. Claude and Muffy got married and the union brought forth two handsome boys Kevin and Rohan Vines, as well as a stepdaughter Nicky Vines. Muffy was known for her jokes and jovial attitude. She loved to dance and sing, and can often be seen dancing or singing whenever she could. She was
extremely hard working and dedicated to her family. She was especially devoted to her children, which she made sure they were provided for, and received a college education.
In 1996, Muffy migrated to the United States, along with her only daughter. Her sons later joined her and Kerry-Ann a few years later. Due to fear of flying, her husband never joined her. However, was a dedicated wife, and travelled few times each year to spend time with him in Jamaica throughout the years.
After migrating to the US, she worked as a Home Health Aid from 1996 until 2011 due to her untimely illness. She was always a devoted Home Health Aid to her patients and their families. As a result, she was considered family and they maintained contact with Muffy throughout the years up until her passing. Although she was ill for all these years, she would never complain. She was often more concerned about your health and wellbeing rather than her own. She always put on a brave face regardless of how she felt. She was kindhearted, friendly, and positive human being. She would give you her last dollar or food if she knew you needed it. She always had a smile and encouraging words for anyone she interacts with. Muffy was a God-fearing woman who dedicated her life to the Lord. She loved attending church services as often as she was able to do physically. Her favorite pastime was listening to gospel music, especially Shirley Cesar, her favorite gospel singer.
On August 19, 2020 at 3:16am, Muffy left her family peacefully and transitioned to be with the Lord and her heavenly family (the late Joan Burton-Boswell-sister, Steven Nelson-brother and Austin Walker-brother).
