Carroll “Skip” Adams, 90 of Wheeling passed away November 30, 2019, in Atlanta, GA.
Born June 20, 1929 in Avella, PA, he was the youngest son of the late Howard and Bessie Adams. He grew up in McMechen, attended Lincoln High School and was a Korean War veteran. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Belle Sinclair on September 11, 1954.
Carroll (Skip to this friends), served in the WV Army National Guard in Moundsville for over 30 years. He worked as an appliance repair and delivery man for Reichart’s Furniture, and then worked for Bloch Brothers Tobacco (Swisher International) as a machine operator and then head of maintenance until his retirement in 1994.
Skip had many interests and hobbies. He was a champion horseshoe pitcher, volunteered for the House of the Carpenter, St. Vincent de Paul and Northern Panhandle Head Start; and spent countless hours shooting the breeze with friends and strangers alike at Greens Donuts, Benwood, Mt de Chantal, and Warwood Kroger locations, Wendy’s in Benwood and the Ohio County Public Library. He also enjoyed fishing and golf. In his later years, he developed a love of the Bible and its teachings and attended the meetings of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Mary Belle on September 14, 2019, as well as brothers Luther, Frank, Charles and James, sisters Bessie Mae, Margie and Wylene, several nieces and nephews and his son-in-law, Lewis Francis, II. He is survived by his daughters Cheryl (Jeffrey) Warner of Stone Mountain, GA and Kim Adams-Francis of Wheeling, beloved granddaughter Taylor Adams of Wheeling, his pride and joy, great-granddaughter Kiarra Washington, sisters Mamie Saunders of Fairmont and Ilene Pervall of Wheeling, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Emory Palliative Care Center, Emory Healthcare System and the nurses on floor 5G, as well as the Wheeling and Fairmont, WV, Redan, and Stone Mountain, GA congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Friends will be received Friday, December 20, 2019, at Kepner Funeral Home,166 Kruger St. in Wheeling from 1-4 and 6-8. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 21 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2090 Angle Avenue in Wheeling at 2.

Sending love and condolences to the family, I’m so sorry for the loss. Mr. Adams would make my day when he’d come in while I was working, he would hold my hand and chat and catch up since the last time we’d seen each other. He will be missed.
